The contract is part of ADIF’s ongoing maintenance programme for the Red Ferroviaria de Interés General (RFIG), the backbone of Spain’s railway infrastructure.

Tracción Rail, part of Grupo Azvi, together with Continental Rail, has been awarded a new contract to support infrastructure and track maintenance operations across the Spanish national rail network managed by ADIF. The contract is valued at EUR 5.65 million and will run for 24 months.

The scope of work includes the provision of locomotives with drivers for transporting materials such as rails, turnouts, sleepers, ballast, and masts, as well as special trains for moving rolling stock, rail-laying equipment, and mobile substations. It also covers track inspection and monitoring runs, infrastructure load testing on bridges and viaducts, and the operation of ADIF’s own rolling stock.

Additional tasks include shunting operations, train composition management, and operational planning.
