The intermodal centre Interporto Bologna sign a contract with Künz to deliver two rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes to handle its operation better.

The Interporto Bologna is undergoing a major expansion. Co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, its railway area will be expanded by 115,000 m2 in two phases. This expansion includes the purchase of two RMGs, to operate above five 750 m railway tracks.

New RMGs will be delivered by the Austrian manufacturer Künz, and should be operational by the end of March 2025. Interporto Bologna hopes for the railway terminal to double the trains it handles by 2030.
