Olavion, a rail freight operator of the Unimot Group, is buying four six-axle DC locomotives from Newag with an option for 16 more of these locomotives.

Shortly after leasing eight Pesa Gama locomotives from Cargounit, the Polish rail freight carrier Olavion announced the deal to purchase up to 20 Newag locomotives. Out of this general order, four Dragon2 locomotives were ordered, with the delivery of the first unit in mid-December 2024. The contract includes warranty maintenance for two years.

Sixteen more locomotives are an option of this contract, which does not have to be executed at all but can be used until the end of 2025.

Unimot is a fuel and energy group that purchased Olavion at the beginning of 2023. Olavion, founded in 2014, is a transport and forwarding company moving bulk goods and containerised cargo inside Poland up to the border crossings.
