Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) has launched its first double-stack container train service connecting the Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Ankleshwar with the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Garhi.

This new rail link operates under a hub-and-spoke system, facilitating cargo movement from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) to ICD Garhi via Ankleshwar. The service represents GDL’s entry into domestic operations from the Ankleshwar logistics hub to North India.

The company expects to begin direct EXIM services from Ankleshwar in the next financial year, coinciding with the commissioning of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) connection to Nhava Sheva. The future link is expected to support faster cargo movement and expand double-stack train capabilities between western ports and northern industrial centres.
