A new intermodal train service connecting Budapest and Bettembourg-Dudelange is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2025. This route will operate four times per week, carrying containers and semi-trailers (both craneable and non-craneable). The project is a collaboration between CFL multimodal, MAHART Container Center terminal (MCC), and VTG Hungary, with support from the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centres (MLSZKSZ).
The initiative aims to create additional intermodal transport options between Central and Eastern Europe and key South-Western European ports and economic centers. The new train service builds on CFL multimodal's existing intermodal connections, adding to its recently launched route between Curtici (Romania) and Bettembourg-Dudelange.
