DB Cargo Nederland will continue to manage shunting operations at the Chemelot Chemical Park for another five years. This extension is part of an ongoing contract with the infrastructure operator Circle Infra Partners.
Circle Infra Partners oversees much of the infrastructure within the Chemelot Chemical Park. Their responsibilities include providing infrastructure services and transitioning Chemelot to a climate-neutral chemical site.
The Chemelot rail network spans 40 kilometers and includes over 120 switches.
Under the contract, DB Cargo Nederland is responsible for ensuring the safe departure of external trains destined for various locations within the Netherlands and across Europe. Additionally, DB Cargo Nederland handles the provision of freight cars and the secure management of train traffic on the internal rail network.
