She started her career in academia, first at the Institute for Production and Logistics Management at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, then at the Kühne Institute for Logistics Management at the University of St. Gallen in research, consulting and teaching on logistics network planning and combined transport. From 2009 to 2015, she held various management positions at SBB Cargo and SBB Cargo International, where she was a member of the management team and head of safety for the whole of Europe.
