PKP Cargo Service has appointed a new CEO and board member, strengthening its management team within the Polish rail freight group.

PKP Cargo Service, a subsidiary of Poland’s PKP Cargo Group, has appointed new leadership following a completed selection process.

From 27 March 2026, Piotr Sylwestrzak has taken over as Chief Executive Officer, while Maciej Duch has been appointed as Member of the Management Board.

Sylwestrzak brings experience in infrastructure investment and strategy implementation. He has previously worked with PKP S.A. and Łódź Agglomeration Railway, and has been serving on the PKP Cargo Service management board since 2025. In that role, he was responsible for areas including rail safety, financial management, procurement and IT.

Duch has more than 20 years of experience in the rail sector and has been with the PKP Cargo Group since 2006. He has held several senior roles across finance, operations and infrastructure, most recently linked to restructuring activities within PKP Cargo.

The appointments come as PKP Cargo Service continues to develop its position within the group, focusing on operational performance and project delivery in the rail freight segment.
