HNRC, established in 1998 and headquartered in Worksop, with an additional facility in Barrow Hill, operates a multi-purpose rail services facility on a 14-hectare site in Worksop. The company employs more than 30 staff and, in the 2023/2024 financial year, reported operating revenues of approximately EUR 9 million.

With the acquisition, Swietelsky extends its capabilities to include locomotive repairs, fleet management, and rail vehicle storage in the UK. The move is expected to increase Swietelsky's capacity for machine overhauls and support future projects, including the adaptation of rail vehicles to European train control systems. The acquisition also aligns with Swietelsky's focus on expanding its presence in the UK rail sector, particularly in the context of operate and maintain contracts for Network Rail.
