The Czech private operator entered the Polish market in September 2025 with a trial service on the Kraków–Warsaw corridor and started full timetable implementation from 1 March 2026.

RegioJet has announced it will cease domestic rail operations in Poland on 3 May 2026, ending services on the Kraków–Warsaw–Gdynia and Poznań–Warsaw routes.

The company cited persistent barriers to fair competition as the primary reason for its withdrawal. These include limited access to station retail space, delays in acquiring a maintenance depot in Warsaw-Praga, longer journey times due to restricted path allocations, and aggressive price reductions by the incumbent operator PKP Intercity. RegioJet stated that these factors undermined the economic viability of its operations despite stable passenger demand and competitive pricing.

Passengers affected by the service discontinuation will receive full ticket refunds by 15 April 2026 using the original payment method. In addition, RegioJet will offer compensation of PLN 100 (approximately EUR 23) per booking as a goodwill gesture.

International services linking Prague with Przemyśl via Kraków and with Warsaw will continue to operate. The company confirmed it remains financially stable and is continuing significant rolling stock investments, including an order for 75 low-floor units capable of speeds up to 200 km/h, partly in cooperation with Polish manufacturer Pesa Bydgoszcz.

RegioJet indicated its willingness to re-enter the Polish domestic market if regulatory and competitive conditions improve, particularly with the anticipated liberalisation of subsidised rail services.

In December 2025, RegioJet cancelled over 1,000 trains in Poland, causing chaos and resulted in big criticism by authorities and domestic incumbent operator, PKP Intercity.
