The project, estimated at €17.5 million, aims to create an intermodal freight facility with a container and vehicle beach, contributing to the port's decarbonization objectives and reduction of CO2 emissions.

The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has taken a major step forward in the development of the internal rail network at the Port of Sagunto by launching a tender for technical assistance in site management and health and safety coordination. This is an important step in ensuring the efficient execution of the Port of Sagunto's inner rail network construction project.

The tender covers key aspects such as accident prevention, occupational health measures, repair and maintenance activities and mandatory facilities for workers' welfare. The estimated investment for the internal rail network is 17.5 million euros, and the project is expected to be completed within 11 months. The development includes the design of an intermodal freight facility with dedicated sections for containers and vehicles.

In line with the Valencia Port Authority's comprehensive rail strategy, the project is part of a wider investment of over €240 million to decarbonize port activities and combat climate change. Investing in projects such as the internal rail network of the Port of Sagunto highlights the synergy between maritime and rail transport, promoting competitiveness and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
