CargoBeamer has extended its Liège intermodal service to Parma, strengthening rail freight links between Belgium and northern Italy.

CargoBeamer has extended its Liège intermodal service to Parma, pushing its transalpine network further into northern Italy and strengthening freight connections between Belgium and one of Italy’s key logistics regions.

The route, which had operated between Liège and Domodossola since January, was extended to CEPIM Terminal in Parma last week. The service continues to run with six weekly roundtrips.

From a market perspective, the move gives CargoBeamer deeper access to northern Italy’s logistics and food industry base, while reinforcing the role of rail in cross-Alpine freight flows.

The service continues to be operated with BLS Cargo as traction provider and is designed to handle a broad range of loading units, including craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers, refrigerated trailers, ADR and tank units, containers, swap bodies and other specialised equipment.
