The company demands to approximately 354 million EUR.

PKP Cargo, operating under restructuring, has submitted a compensation claim to the Prime Minister and the Minister of State Assets concerning tasks imposed on the company under the so-called “coal decision” issued in July 2022. The claim concerns the transport of coal purchased by PGE Paliwa and Węglokoks.

According to PKP Cargo, the request covers losses linked to performing the mandated transport activities and the absence of a financing agreement that, under crisis-management legislation, should have been concluded with the State Treasury.

PKP Cargo states that if the amount is not paid within the indicated timeframe, it plans to file a lawsuit against the State Treasury in a common court before the end of 2025.
