Brado Logistica is preparing a set of infrastructure projects under the “Projeto Carrossel” label, targeting its intermodal terminals in Sumaré (São Paulo) and Rondonópolis (Mato Grosso).
The terminal in Sumaré, which currently handles approximately 150 trucks daily, is projected to more than double its intake capacity following infrastructure modifications. This terminal plays a connecting role between the Central-West and North regions of Brazil with the ports of Santos and Itaguaí (Rio de Janeiro), and indirectly links agricultural producers with industrial hubs.
Brado also aims to expand static capacity at both locations and implement infrastructure to streamline truck unloading operations. These adjustments reflect broader efforts to handle higher volumes and reorganize terminal flows.
Part of the plan includes the acquisition of new container handling equipment. Brado has purchased Chinese-built cranes from Jiangsu Rainbow Industrial Equipment (RIC), which are capable of stacking containers in taller columns. This adjustment is expected to reduce operational cycle time and increase yard storage density.
At the Sumaré site, investment will also cover the construction of new office facilities and warehouses. Further yard space expansion is scheduled, alongside preparation for the terminal to qualify as a Recinto Especial para Despacho Aduaneiro de Exportação (Redex)—a special customs area designated for export clearance.
The project forms part of Brado’s long-term logistics and intermodal infrastructure agenda in the state of São Paulo and beyond. The company described this as one of its most substantial undertakings in the years ahead, linked to broader activity in the Campinas region.
