SETG expands operations to Slovenia with launch of S-Rail Adria

The company is responsible for managing the traction of SETG trains within Slovenian territory.

Since 1 April 2025, the Salzburg-based SETG Group has been operational in Slovenia through its new subsidiary, S-Rail Adria, headquartered in Maribor.

SETG, which already holds traffic licences and safety certificates in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Hungary (since December 2024), is also in the application process for Slovakia and Poland.

​The Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik GmbH (SETG) is a private, independent railway logistics company established in 2001. The company specializes in providing advanced logistics solutions for European rail freight transport, offering tailor-made block train services for industries such as wood, paper/pulp, steel, combined freight transport, chemicals, vehicles, and agricultural products.

As of 2024, SETG employs approximately 275 staff members and reported a revenue of €103 million. The company's fleet comprises 58 locomotives and 860 wagons.
