Initially, the service will offer three return trips per week, increasing to four by April 2025.

Hannibal, the MTO of the Contship Group, inaugurates the new A2B-online intermodal service that will connect the Rail Hub Milano terminal in Melzo with Moerdijk in the Netherlands. This new connection will initially offer three weekly departures, with an increase to four round trips planned from April 2025. Oceanogate, a Contship Group company, will operate rail traction in the country.

"This connection is an important step in strengthening trade relations between the Netherlands and Italy and perfectly complements our goal of optimizing our customers' supply chains," said Andrea Spagnuolo, Sales & Business Development Manager at Contship.

With more than 40 km of road, 35 km of rail, and five different modes of transport, the Moerdijk terminal is confirmed as an important multimodal hub, also thanks to the possibility of re-routing to various destinations in the United Kingdom.
