A delegation from DP World of the United Arab Emirates visited Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework to finalize the commercial arrangements for the Dedicated Freight Corridor project linking the Port of Karachi to Pipri.

Consultations on the proposed multimodal logistics park at Pipri were held with key stakeholders including representatives from DP World, Pakistan Railways and the National Logistics Cell (NLC). At a formal ceremony, the discussions culminated in the signing of a mutually agreed term sheet.

The freight corridor aims to contribute to more efficient and cost-effective logistics across the country by reducing congestion in Karachi through improved rail-based freight transport. The project is a cornerstone of Pakistan's Multimodal Logistics Framework and represents a multi-million dollar investment aimed at positioning Pakistan as a key regional transshipment and transit trade hub.
