Cargo Service GmbH (CargoServ)

Cargo Service GmbH is a fully owned subsidiary of Logistik Service GmbH (LogServ). As a private railroad transportation company, CargoServ carries out freight transports on the public railroad network.

In April 2001, LogServ carried out the first private freight transport via the public rail network. The continuous expansion of services in the railroad sector increased the volume of goods transported by the company's own railroads from 700,000 tons of raw materials and finished products in the first business year to almost seven million tons, which corresponds to around 190 trains per week. Since April 2012, CargoServ has been operating as a fully equipped company itself with the corresponding transport permit to carry out the freight transports.

The strategic goal of CargoServ is to achieve sustainable cost savings and quality improvements for voestalpine Stahl GmbH in Linz, while at the same time further strengthening its presence on the third-party market. Using a comprehensive network CargoServ develops new process-optimized transport concepts for international shipments.

CargoServ uses traction current from 100% Austrian renewable energy for all rail transports.
