As the Italian FS Group, we have been actively participating in the progress of the country for over 100 years, looking after the mobility of young people, families and workers, of a society that is changing and evolving at a dizzying pace, that is speeding up, whilst at the same time trying to keep in touch through ever faster and more efficient systems. Our core business has always been the safe, comfortable and efficient transport of millions of people. For this reason, our main strategic objective is to guarantee the best quality of service in terms of national territorial capillarity, punctuality, safety and comfort, always putting the passenger at the heart of all decision-making processes.

We were founded on 1 July 2001 as RFI - Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA, in response to the need to separate the network manager from the provider of transport services. We are responsible for keeping the railway infrastructure in full working order, allowing over 9000 passenger trains and tons of freight to run on them every day in complete safety.

We are a multidisciplinary and versatile structure, consisting of operative divisions specialised in the various sectors of competence, able to offer global services in many industrial sectors.

ANCEFERR, Associazione Nazionale Costruttori Edili Ferroviari Riuniti (National Association of Reunited Railway Constructors), was founded in 2011 with the aim of creating an association between member companies in terms of collaboration, help and protection.

DITECFER supports its Shareholders in all research and innovation activities, acquisition of strategic know-how and business networking (Tuscan).

Fermerci is the association representing rail freight operators in Italy.
