If you were willing to meet people from the European transport and logistics sector, there was a big chance to see everyone in one place – in Munich. The recently ended trade fair transport logistic 2023 is over, and the post-Covid comeback was successful.

From 9 May to 12 May 2023, over 75,000 visitors came to Munich to meet, network, showcase and close deals at the transport logistic fair 2023. After Covid cancellations, this was the first return of the fair after a four-year break.

People from 120 countries came to the Bavarian capital, exceeding visitor numbers by 11,000 compared to 2019. With 2,320 exhibitors from 67 countries, there was a record number of international visitors, with 60% of companies exhibiting from outside Germany. There was much to choose from – from rolling stock through logistics, mobility, IT solutions and supply change management.

The overall surface of 120,000 sqm included the outdoor area, where locomotives and wagons were showcased – an attractive part of the fair. Here is the summary of what was on display:

VTG and its traction company Retrack brought their Stadler EuroDual locomotive:

SBB Cargo showcased an older TRAXX locomotive, but in a new livery promoting the maintenance services of SBB Cargo:

In the wagons segment, the trend of modularity of wagon platforms was strong. DB Cargo presented its m2 wagon platform. Modular platforms were a strong topic also with Modalis, Wascosa, Rail Release, or VTG.

The topic of Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) is a natural part of modern exhibitions today. These couplers were installed at many of the wagons displayed at the transport logistic fair in Munich in 2023.
