RAILPOOL started the decade-long leasing of five multisystem Siemens Vectron locomotives to SBB Cargo International.

On 1st June 2023, RAILPOOL handed over the first out of five Siemens Vectron locomotives to the traction company SBB Cargo International at its KTG Workshop in Duisburg. They will be leased for a period of ten years. Two out of these five units will receive a special silver livery of SBB Cargo International, following red, blue and black locomotives already operating with a similar theme.

The A22 versions of Siemens Vectrons are the first locomotives with ETCS BL3 for the Rail Freight Corridor (RFC)1. Initially, they will only serve the Netherlands to Germany section of this Rhine-Alpine corridor. After receiving the full approvals, they will seamlessly travel on the entire corridor between Rotterdam and Italy.

This contract announcement was somehow special for RAILPOOL. Locomotive 193 110 was also the 300th newly-built locomotive handed over to this rolling stock leasing company.
