The order was placed by the Slovak carrier in February 2020. After 2 years, the Slovak company ŽOS Trnava handed them over to the carrier for use. The modernisation cost EUR 920,000 per carriage.

After the modification, the carriages can reach a speed of 160 km/h (previously 120 km/h), air conditioning and modern toilets have been added.  An information system for passengers and passenger counting, wifi and electrical sockets and USB connectors were also added. The seats are more comfortable and the interior has also been redesigned. The cars have also received new doors both externally and internally. The new coaches will mainly operate in eastern Slovakia. The new carriages will run in the Slovak Railways trainsets ordered in the regions of eastern Slovakia on the lines Košice – Čierna nad Tisou, Košice – Lipany – Plaveč and Košice – Liptovský Mikuláš.
