The new T3000e wagons will be used for intermodal transport between Germany and Sweden.

GATX Rail Germany freight team has completed the handover of 15 T3000e intermodal railcars to Samskip. This is the first order that Samskip has placed with GATX. The new cooperation should increase Samskip's capacity on its rail network between Germany and Sweden.

The T3000e railcars are suitable for the transportation of craneable semi-trailers (with steering axle) and mega-trailers. They are also suitable for swap bodies and ISO containers 20, 30, 40, and 45 feet. One of the features of these wagons is that they enable safer and easier loading of semi-trailers.

“I am particularly happy that we have found a new partner with very similar goals to ours. Together we are working towards the common goal of establishing and expanding sustainable and green logistics chains. For us at GATX Rail Europe, the new partnership is an important step to expand our activities in the BeNeLux area,” said Julian Madsen, Key Account Manager at GATX Rail Europe.

The T3000e railcars will be used by Samskip for its highly frequent service routes for intermodal transport between Germany and Sweden, thus expanding its rail service network. “We are delighted to start working with GATX Rail Europe as a supplier of intermodal railcars in order to further expand the trailer capacity on our rail network between Duisburg and Sweden and team up in our joint efforts to make green logistics easy,” commented Alieke van Zuthem, Rail Operations Manager at Samskip.
