This facility for 32 million euros is to contribute to the transport shift from road to rail. The total investment in the logistics center is to be about 160 million euros.

The terminal was inaugurated by the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Mayor of the Statutory City of Ostrava and representatives of the developer OAMP Holding. At the same time, they concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation and Assistance for the purpose of a joint plan to attract a strategic investor to the Mošnov Industrial Zone.

"For the region, this will mean significantly lower emissions from truck transport and greater safety on the roads," said Ivo Vondrák, Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

The combined transport terminal seems to help significantly with the shift of freight transport from road to rail. In conjunction with the storage and production capacity in the Mošnov Industrial Zone, is to make logistics processes more efficient, minimizing the negative impact on the environment and enabling further development of business activities in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

The new terminal is capable of handling ISO sea containers, swap bodies, and LKW semi-trailers and meeting all the transport and logistics needs of the adjacent regions and their customers.

The operator of the combined transport terminal are four partners - Innofreight Czech Republic, Medlog Czech Republic, Budamar Logistics, and ČD Cargo Logistics. Its construction was covered by Concens.

"For ČD Cargo, intermodality is one of the four strategic pillars on which it is building its future. We have been cooperating with Innofreight for more than 15 years and I believe that now, after the opening of the new terminal in Mošnov, our cooperation will deepen even further. In cooperation with our wholly-owned subsidiary ČD Cargo Logistics, we are preparing several new projects in which Mošnov plays a very important role," said Tomáš Tóth, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ČD Cargo, at the opening ceremony.

The Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park complex covers an area of 52 hectares and includes more than 234,000 sqm of the warehouse, production, and office space, in addition to the combined transport terminal. It is situated near Leoš Janáček International Airport Ostrava in the Industrial zone Mošnov, with direct connection to highway and railway networks.

The Railway container terminal is also strategically placed on the planned „New Silk Road,“ which will be part of the site and unique by its’ size in central European scale and maximum handling capacity.
