The rail vehicle leasing company will open a new office in Poznań, Poland, effective 1 October 2022.

On the same day, Robert Nowakowski will join the RAILPOOL company.

Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL, explains why is the new subsidiary important for them: “The foundation of a RAILPOOL subsidiary in Poland is a logical continuation of our considerable activities in this market, one of the biggest and most important rail markets in Europe. I am very pleased to have Robert Nowakowski on board with us to lead the local business starting in October. He is a seasoned rail executive who knows very well the Polish market and I am convinced that his extensive experience paired with RAILPOOL’s competence for full-service lease and our modern rolling stock will be of great benefit to our local customers and business partners.”

Robert Nowakowski has more than 20 years of executive experience in the rail sector including more than eleven years at DB Cargo Polska, where he served as a Member of the Board for the last five years.

Robert Nowakowski to his appointment says: “I am delighted to join RAILPOOL in October to take their operations in Poland to the next level. I am strongly rooted in the local – and challenging – rail cargo market. Based on Railpool’s great success in Poland and line with their ongoing expansion in Eastern Europe I am very much looking forward to helping them pave the way to meet the increasing local demand for powerful and reliable traction services.”
