As the portfolio holder and owner of the logistics assets, Aves one AG takes over the direction and control of the asset managers, the weighting of the business areas and the portfolio management.
The main activities of the Aves Group are grouped into two business areas:
- The Rail division includes the asset ownership of freight and tank wagons with a useful life of up to 45 years. - Aves Group's lessees are mainly state-owned, but also private railway companies, large industrial, chemical and logistics companies. Tenants can choose from flat, intermodal, box, tank and diverse other wagons with various specifications. About one third of them are younger than ten years, the average age is around 16 years.
- Following the complete sale of the sea containers, the Container segment now comprises only swap bodies. Further investments were made in the swap body division in 2021. Due to the sale of a swap body portfolio as part of a move to rejuvenate the portfolio, the portfolio decreased to 8,122 (prior year: 8,998) units.
- The main customers include logistics companies from the so-called courier, express and parcel market (CEP market). Tenants are mainly logistics service providers such as DHL, DPD, Hermes Euro and Hellmann WWL.
