A EUR 16 million development program will be executed in the Mátranovák factory.

Alstom has initiated a EUR 16 million development program at its railway bogie frame factory in Mátranovák, Hungary, aiming to increase its production capacity by 40%. This initiative is part of the broader "Mátranovák 2030" program and involves significant machinery upgrades and new hiring to support increased production demands.

The factory, which became part of Alstom in 2021, plans to modernize its equipment with advanced technology and adopt new production methods. As part of these changes, nearly 150 new jobs will be created, primarily for highly skilled positions such as welders, locksmiths, CNC machine operators, engineers, and project managers.

With these enhancements, the Mátranovák site will become a more prominent player in the production of bogie frames within Alstom’s European operations. These frames, essential for the structural integrity and safety of railway vehicles, are used in various types of trains across the continent.

In addition to the technical upgrades, Alstom is also focusing on workforce development by establishing an accredited welding and locksmith school at the site. This effort addresses the growing need for specialized skills in the railway manufacturing sector.

The development is supported by the Government of Hungary and aligns with national efforts to bolster local manufacturing capabilities. The program is scheduled to conclude with the opening of a new logistics hall by the end of 2025, which will further support the factory's expanded operations.
