Diesel multiple Alstom Coradia LINT units in Denmark will be maintained by the Finnish company.

VR FleetCare has secured a maintenance contract with the Danish train operator Nordjyske Jernbaner. The agreement, effective from 2024 to 2029, involves the maintenance of bogies and pneumatic components for the Alstom Coradia LINT series trains.

Under the terms of the contract, maintenance work will be conducted at VR FleetCare's Component Services facilities in Helsinki and Pieksämäki. These locations are equipped to handle the restoration of train bogies and other rail components. The contract stipulates the maintenance of the first 14 train sets during the period from 2024 to 2026, with an additional 5 train sets scheduled for maintenance in 2029.

The Helsinki facility is noted for its capabilities in handling various valve sizes and types, providing comprehensive testing and maintenance services. In contrast, the Pieksämäki site is recognized for its proficiency in repairing a broad range of bogie types, including those used in electric and diesel locomotives, electric trains, and passenger carriages.

This maintenance agreement is part of a broader initiative by VR FleetCare to maintain and service key train components, which are critical to the operational efficiency and safety of the rolling stock. The bogie, a crucial safety component, typically accounts for about one-fifth of the lifecycle costs of rolling stock.
